What Breakthrough does

Breakthrough is the progression system that allows eligible characters to move beyond the normal Elite VII limit. For Gold characters, it is the path toward Elite VIII, IX and X and ultimately Level 60.

Breakthrough is not Max Augments

This is one of the most common points of confusion. Breakthrough changes promotion eligibility and enables the higher Elite/level progression. Max Augments changes Health, Damage, Crit Chance and Crit Damage. They are separate systems.

When is Breakthrough worth prioritizing?

• When the character is already part of your main Online Battle or Survivor team.
• When the higher promotion will materially improve a carry's damage or a tank's survivability.
• When you already have the gear and teammates to make the character useful at the higher promotion.
• When you understand how the higher stats may affect Online Battle matchmaking.
